Kristy Dellacroce founded Sunrise Healing, a Phoenix-based health and wellness company primarily focusing on the lymphatic system. With a long-standing passion for helping others, Kristy’s journey began as an Occupational Therapist concentrating on special needs children. Her 10-year career began in New Jersey, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and her Master’s in Occupational Therapy, both from Stockton University.
After graduating, Kristy worked for five years as an OT in the public school system. She then moved to sunny Arizona and continued her career as an OT working with the special needs population. She enjoys spending time with her four adult children and her beautiful granddaughter.
After her diagnosis with Lipedema in 2023, Kristy became deeply committed to learning more about the condition and has developed a new passion for helping others with Lipedema as they navigate this complex, misunderstood, and often misdiagnosed disease.
Lipedema is a rare chronic condition that involves abnormal accumulation of excess fat, swelling, and fibrosis under the skin, typically seen in the lower extremities, buttocks (shelf), and arms. This leads to a buildup of tissue fluids, swelling, and scar tissue (fibrosis). Lipedema is also painful to the touch with frequent bruising, often misdiagnosed as obesity or lymphedema, and primarily affects women.
My services include specialized Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) for anyone in need, with targeted care for women with Lipedema who are preparing for or recovering from surgery. MLD is a critical pre- and post-operative therapy that helps reduce swelling, support healing, and improve surgical outcomes. For those requiring documentation for insurance, I can provide medical notes from your sessions to support insurance coverage for surgery. In fact, many insurance plans mandate MLD as part of the conservative treatments required before they will cover Lipedema-related procedures. Additionally, some insurers require the provider to be an occupational or physical therapist, and as an occupational therapist with 10 years of experience and a certification in manual lymph drainage (specializing in the Vodder technique), I meet these requirements.
